 The Islands Community is a lush, established, lake community, built on a foundation of social and business relationships, welcoming residents as good neighbors and friends. We offer our diverse residents a unique lifestyle that includes three lakes throughout the community, where catch and release fishing and boating are available. Near one of the lakes there is a lovely Community Park, with a covered playground, basketball court, bocce ball court, soccer field, ramadas throughout for small, outdoor events, and many other features. And, within the park area is the Community Center, which is available for all residents to rent, for those special, private events. The Center offers a spacious, open area for your event and includes tables, chairs, and use of the full kitchen.
The Islands Community provides beautifully landscaped common areas, an onsite management staff, and some of the subdivisions include pools and tennis courts. Throughout the year the association hosts multiple community events, such as Concerts in the Park, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Fall Festival, and Holiday BoatParade, to name a few. In 2012 we will also be hosting the Islands Annual Art in the Park, where you can enjoy and purchase art from over 100 regional artists. Also, this Fall, the Islands Annual Classic Cars in the Park will take place and offers a fun time for participants and spectators who appreciate classic cars. These events are family friendly and our homeowners look forward to participating in them each year. In addition, there are four commercial sites, offering a variety of retail stores, restaurants, and other necessities, conveniently located within the Islands Community and many within walking distance. There is also an elementary, junior high and high school within the community, as well as a preschool and learning center. Homeowners appreciate the opportunity to support our local merchants. The Islands Community is located about twenty miles from Sky Harbor Airport, downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale, with museums, sports venues, and restaurants, to mention just few of their attractions. The Town of Gilbert also has many features that are available for residents to enjoy. Some of those include golf/country clubs, movie theatres, a variety of restaurants, the Gilbert Historical Museum, and the Gilbert Fine Arts Association.
